For anyone who wants to check in on Ava, we thought this would be an easy way to tell her story...

1 week post transplant!

stethoscope and syringe...yay!
Ava is the same today, still no eating and has a lot of nausea.  We spent the day playing and catching some naps here and there. Nurse Bridget helped me give Ava a real bath today, she loved it and now is so sweet and clean. She also got to play "nurse" with Bridget, Ava is obsessed with Bridget's stethoscope and whatever else Bridget brings in to the room...she will let the nurses do anything to her as long as she can get her chubby little hands on their things :)
They plan on giving her platelets again tonight because they dropped down below 10,000 again, and they also may give her RBC's (red blood cells) because it looks as if they went down a significant amount too. They are going to draw blood one more time to check and make sure it wasn't an error, and if they indeed went down as much as they think...she will get a transfusion tonight. It is all very confusing to me, they give chemo to drop her #'s to zero, but then transfuse when her #'s get too low.  Apparently, anyone who goes through a bone marrow transplant has to get transfused often, until your body can make platelets and RBC's on their own.
