For anyone who wants to check in on Ava, we thought this would be an easy way to tell her story...

I need to clarify something...
When I came in this morning to relieve Drew, the doctors were here and we asked some questions regarding the grafting. We were told that her cells right now are indeed Audrey's cells. That her own cells would never recover this fast after having chemo. Now, by day 30, 60, and 100 when they do the bone marrow biopsies, her own cells have a chance of coming back. By doing the biopsies, they will be able to see what percentage are Audrey's and what percentage are her own. The hope is that we see 100% Audrey's. He said that we may see a small percent of her own in there and that is ok because with Ava's disease, the only cell line we are trying to replace are her platelets. Unlike a leukemia patient where unfortunately all their cells need to be replaced, Ava's other cell lines were healthy.
Ava's night was interrupted a lot, her blood pressure is high. Today they will keep a close eye on it and may need to do blood pressure meds. Other than that, there isn't much to report on yet...
I will write more at the end of the day :)
Hi, Im back with Ava's daily update. Her blood pressure has been high all day, they feel it could be from her fluid retention. Ava's kidneys seem to have a hard time getting rid of everything going in. I will know later tonight if she will take something for it. They usually give Lasix, which makes her pee, but too much Lasix can be bad for the kidneys and apparently they feel her kidneys need a rest. The other main thing going on is her mouth pain, her mucositis is bad right now and she is miserable. Her ANC went down a little today (just like they told us it would). It was in the 700's which is not a significant drop, they may go up again by morning.
The highlight of my day was getting here first thing in the morning and seeing her face, she was so happy to see me. Drew took some pictures of her touching my whole face, like "mommy? Is that really you?" This baby is just delicious.
