A visit from Nana!

We started the day with me leaving home bright and early to come to Canton to take Ava to her clinic appointment. Drew had work stuff to do so I got here early to relieve him.  Her numbers looked good today, platelets were 159,000!  She was low in one area and had to get a transfusion of of IVIG (immunoglobulins) which help with fighting infection. They started Ava on 2 new meds today to help with nausea, hopefully she will show some interest in food so we can get her off this TPN! We were at Hopkins till about 2:00 and then came back to the apartment and got a visit from Nana and Goompa (mom & Mike)!! Yay!! They came bearing gifts for all of us from people I barely know...its really amazing how caring and generous people can be, we appreciate it so much!  We ate some lunch and they took a tour of my building, but the best part was they got to see Ava and how great she looks! It was really nice seeing them. We also had a visit tonight from Jon and Leslie, the sweetest couple ever! Jon works with Drew and his wife Leslie is precious. They live a couple blocks away and walked over with their new baby girl and their dog just to deliver a plant and fresh baked brownies...doesn't get any nicer than that :)
