So, yesterday was the big moving day...right next door. With help from Nana and Goompa, the 4 of us were able to carry our stuff right over. What a difference this place is!! The living room is so much brighter and the place just feels more homey. I set Ava's play areas up and she has already taken over the place. She loves our hallway, we didn't have a hall when we were next door. She has figured out that she can crawl to other rooms, and she is very inquisitive about what's behind each door. We brought her crib mattress because there is a crib here, unfortunately she hasn't slept in one since July (bad habit on our part) but hopefully we can train her to sleep in one again. She used to love her crib but after being in the hospital and then in the one bedroom apartment, it was so hard to put her to sleep where she was able to see us...Im hoping we can get her to love it again. Last night she stayed in it till 12:00 then I brought her in with me because Im a sucker Im too tired to deal with it. Besides, I LOVE cuddling with her all night!! She is so sweet and warm and she gets right up against me...its the best. And another thing that is the best is Ava decided to drink formula today!! All on her own!! It was just like she had never stopped, we are so excited that she showed interest again...finally!! I kept filling up her sippy cup with formula and she kept gulping it down and then would hand me her cup for more, this was the first time in 2 months. Hopefully she will keep this up and we will be able to take her off her night time hydration. It must be the apartment or something...I guess she needed more space to drink formula.
Now on to her appointment stuff. On Monday at clinic we found from her blood results that the campath did indeed do its job, her lymphocytes were 20. They normally were in the 3,000 range but on Monday they were just 20. The doctors were surprised to see it work so quick but it did. And not only did it wipe out her lymphocytes, it also messed with her platelets!! Her platelets on Monday were 31,000!! All that we have gone through to fix her platelet problem and finally have them at 240,000...to see 31,000 was shocking. I have been assured that thrombocytopenia (low platelets) is a common side effect from campath and it will resume on its own. Thankfully today they were up to 70,000, not back to normal but up enough to show that it looks like its campath related and not a real platelet problem...phew. Im hoping on Friday they are up even more, they better be because I can't take this roller coaster ride any more.
Ava isn't too upset over any of this as you can see. I took this picture in clinic today, this is how she responds to the nurses and doctors. She is delicious.
She is magicallydelicious. Great to heat the cam path is doing it's thing, albeit scary to watch platelets get so low. You will have a medical degree by the time Ava turns two. I love the new digs. Everyone needs more room to enjoy their drink of choice, Ava and you guys so deserve a space that feels like home. Love you guys. Prayers haven't stopped. xoxox
